Just Starting Out

“Children are made readers on the laps of their parents”

For your infant we have selected board books that contain bright colors and simple pictures or photographs. These images are easy for your infant to focus on while they learn to recognize the tones and rhythms of your voice.

As you cuddle up and read you will appreciate the design of our books with round corners and sturdy boards, they will withstand the inevitable grabbing and chewing that reading time brings.

Fledglings & Pre-Readers

“There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is the best of all.”

Your toddler will enjoy higher interest board books that explore the world around them and storybooks to engage their imagination. Illustration is key to capturing readers attention, so we look for lively art with many elements for young readers to discover and talk about.

Both fiction and non-fiction content will inspire learning, discussion, and further exploration.

Developing Readers

“Reading is the gateway skill that makes all learning possible.”

Young readers need to spend time with books at a variety of reading levels. As they grow through this age, they will progress from tracking words with their finger as you read to them to reading books themselves.

To support this development your box will contain both fiction and non-fiction books at varying reading levels to both build reading success and challenge young readers as their skills develop. Some of these books they will enjoy reading themselves and others you will love to read together.

8 - 10

Independent Readers

“Reading is a Passport to countless adventures.”

At this age your child progresses from learning to read to reading to learn. Nurturing their enjoyment in reading at this age is critical in growing lifelong readers.

To support this challenge your book box will contain a variety of non-fiction discovery books, graphic novels, and chapter books.

“A child who reads will be an adult who thinks.”

As they approach their teen years talking about books is a great way to connect with your child. Encourage them to read whatever they find engaging, be that magazines, cookbooks, comic books, novels, or even online blogs– just keep them reading and encourage them to talk to you about what they read.

But have no fear, your pre-teens book box will be filled with books they can relate to, and you will be happy to see on their bookshelf.
